5 Simple Resolutions for a Healthier New Year

5 Simple Resolutions for a Healthier New Year

It’s that time of year again! The time we make big resolutions and get big results! Right? Or are you like me and you make a “Resolution” that fizzles out after a few weeks? You’re in good company. But in this post I want to talk about some 5 simple and healthy resolutions you can actually keep because they are easy to do and require baby steps that won’t put you out too much. It’s time to take charge of your well-being with these simple resolutions that are easy to incorporate into your daily routine. From starting your day with a serving of vegetables to upgrading to organic makeup, these five tips will help you make positive changes for your health. Let’s see what small tweaks can lead to big results in achieving a healthier you in the new year.

Start Your Day with a Vegetable

Don’t save your veggie servings for supper time. Vegetables are an easy way to start your day on a healthy note. Hold up, veggies for breakfast? It’s not as bland as it seems. By starting your day with nutrient-rich veggies, you set the tone for making healthier choices throughout the day. Consider adding some spinach to your breakfast smoothie or sautéing some bell peppers and onions to enjoy with your morning eggs. Or my personal favorite, add some squash or pumpkin puree into those pancakes.

Start a Garden

One of the simplest things you can do for a healthier lifestyle is start growing your own food. If you’re a garden newbie keep it simple with a basic herb garden or patio plant. Herbs and smaller vegetables like tomatoes can easily be grown in pots on your porch or window. All you need is a pot, some dirt, and a seed to give yourself healthy, pesticide-free, and usually much better tasting food for your kitchen all year!

Here’s a simple Shopping list to start your herb garden:

Super cute minamist Pots , Organic Soil , Heirloom Seeds.

Pro Tips: Stick to heirloom seeds to avoid genetically modified varieties. I also buy seeds from a local nursery that specializes in breeds that thrive in my area!

If you’re a more seasoned gardener…chances are you already have this rockin’ and rolling so keep up the good work, but maybe consider growing something new! I have had so much fun growing popcorn!

Switch to Natural Deodorant

Another simple healthy resolution is to opt for natural deodorant. By choosing a natural alternative, you can avoid potentially harmful chemicals often found in traditional deodorants. Look for options that are free of parabens, phthalates, and aluminum to keep your underarms feeling fresh and clean without any added toxins. Embracing natural deodorant is just another step towards a healthier you.

Try my favorite actual deoderant: Primally Pure Blue Tansy

Or go for a Stone: Thai Crystal Deodorant (This is what I use as of writing this post)

Do Natural Deodorants “not work for your body”? It didn’t work for me at first either. You’ve got to read my journey on switching to Natural Deodorant and the steps I took to avoid the body odor.

Try Goat Milk Soap for Your Skin

Goat milk soap is known for its moisturizing properties and gentle cleansing abilities, making it a great option for those with sensitive skin. The natural ingredients in goat milk soap can help soothe and hydrate your skin, leaving it feeling soft and rejuvenated. These ingredients are also close to your skin’s natural pH levels making it a great choice. Your skin is your largest organ of your body so it makes sense to ditch the harsh chemicals in commercial soaps and use something your skin likes. The best part is that goat milk soap is often readily available. See if you have any local artisans or health stores close by that you can support! Making the switch to goat milk soap is a simple yet effective way to show your skin some extra love this year.

If you can’t find it locally, try this goat milk soap from amazon!

Switch to Safe Cleaners for Your Home

Try making a conscious choice to switch to safe and eco-friendly cleaners for your home. Many conventional household cleaners contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to both your health and the environment. By opting for natural, non-toxic alternatives, you can create a safer and healthier living environment for you and your loved ones. Plus, eco-friendly cleaners are often just as effective at getting rid of dirt and grime without leaving behind any harmful residues.

Try Zum’s All purpose cleaner or Doterra’s Abode line (it smells amazing!)

Upgrade to organic makeup for a more natural and sustainable beauty routine.

Upgrade to organic makeup for a more natural and sustainable beauty routine. Conventional makeup products often contain synthetic ingredients and harsh chemicals that can be absorbed by your skin and have negative effects on your health in the long run. By making the switch to organic makeup, you can avoid these potentially harmful substances and instead nourish your skin with natural, plant-based ingredients. Not only are organic makeup products better for your skin, but they are also often cruelty-free and produced in environmentally-friendly ways.

You can try my absolute favorite organic brand Toupes & Co. The products smell amazing and have worked really well for me! It can be a little pricey (as can all high end cosmetics) but a little goes a long way and it’s totally worth the peace of mind. Use this affiliate link to get $5 off!
